Our friendly Historic Requa Inn policies
Checking In and Out
We welcome guests from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. If you want to check in early, please call and make arrangements to do so because we sometimes lock the lobby from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for cleaning and shopping. If you are going to be arriving later than 8 p.m., please call and let us know. We can give you a combination to open the upstairs door if the front desk is closed when you arrive. You don't really want us to answer the door in our pyjamas. It's not attractive! Check-out time is 11 a.m.
Reservations (1 to 3 rooms)
For a reservation during our high season (May 1 to September 30):
There is no deposit required, but balance is due in full on checkout. We accept all major credit cards and personal checks.
Cancellation:
- If notice is given at least seven (7) days prior to the day of arrival, you will receive a full refund.
- If you cancel less than seven (7) days prior to your reservation, you are responsible for the full amount of your stay less any nights we are able to re-book. We will do our very best to re-book the room so that you don’t incur the expense.
Early departures:
If you decide to leave early, you are still responsible for the entire stay you reserved. We will do our best to re-book your room. If we are successful, you will receive a refund of the amount we re-booked.

No advance payment is required. Payment in full is due on checkout.
Cancellation:
If you call by 9 a.m. on the date of your arrival, we can cancel your reservation without charge. If you fail to notify us, we will charge your credit card for one night’s stay.
Early departures:
No problem. Please let us know by 9 a.m. if you are checking out so that we can prepare your room for another guest.
Group Reservations (4 or more rooms)
For group reservations of four (4) or more rooms, high season policies apply year round except that we require fourteen (14) days notice for cancellation. Our processing fee for groups is $15 per room. If you have special circumstances that prevent you from visiting us – an accident, illness, death in the family, etc. – talk to us. One of the advantages of staying at a small, family-run inn is that we can bend the rules in special circumstances. If you make up a story to save yourself a few bucks, you will undoubtedly incur 50 years of bad karma. :) Please call us for rates and policies for rental of the entire inn.
Children
The majority of our guests are adults trying to find a relaxing, quiet getaway. Having said that, the Inn is now home to two charming young ladies (ages 2 and 5), who work very hard to be professional Inn keepers, but can have their moments. They have busy full-time lives outside of the Inn during the week, and have their own, well-equipped space tucked away at the Inn. If the occasional sound of little feet (or little voices) is bothersome, please let us know and we can try to make alternative accomodations. In addition, this is an incredibly boring place for some young people (no pool, no television, no cell phone reception). If you are traveling with children, let’s talk before you make a reservation to be sure we have a good fit and can accommodate your needs.
Fishing Season
Commercial fishing season for the Yurok Tribe suns August 21 through mid-September. Fishing season is busy and the area around the Inn is filled with hustle and bustle - especially the road outside the Inn that leads down to the docks. We like our guests to be aware that we wouldn't trade it for anything, but fishing season can get boisterous.
Burning Ban
We live in a 100 year old old growth redwood building, so, we don’t allow smoking anywhere inside the building! But, we have outdoor smoking areas on either the front or back porch where we keep ashtrays for our smoking friends. Candles and incense in our rooms are also taboo because we worry about fire in an old wooden structure.
Pets
We are sorry but we do not accept pets at the Inn. (Note: Service animals are welcome, of course.)
