The Historic Requa Inn is your escape in the Redwoods...

Every room in the Inn is different, and there is sure to be one that is just right for you. Some have magnificent views of the Klamath River and each has a private bathroom - some with claw-foot bathtubs - and are furnished in antiques. All have wonderfully comfortable beds dressed in crisp white cotton sheets, down pillows and comforters, and quilts. You’ll enjoy the cozy warmth of down even in the summer with a cool ocean breeze drifting through your bedroom window. As an expression of our love for hiking in the redwoods, each room is named after trails in the area. All rooms are on the second floor of the hotel. Sorry, we do not have an elevator.

Our room numbers are slightly ecentric - we have 12 guest rooms but the room numbering hasn't changed since the Inn re-opened in 1914. It's all still here! Remember too that there are no phones or TVs in any of the rooms. There is a television off the main dining room and a phone in the living room for guest use.

We strongly encourage you to check out our Requa Inn Ammenities and Requa Inn Policies & FAQs pages for additional things to expect from the Inn.

#20 – Cathedral Trees ($159/$149 double occupancy)

Relax in the Cathedral Trees' clawfoot tub

Click for larger image

Cathedral Trees is arguably our most beautiful room. It features a queen-size birds-eye maple four-poster pillow-top bed and matching maple dresser. Twin antique velvet chairs provide a comfortable view of the river. A romantic claw-foot tub is situated with a river view as well. We used a white vessel sink mounted on an antique commode to create the look of the pitcher and basin that was probably the only water in the room when it was constructed in 1914. (Ours does have running water!) In addition to the tub, this room has a separate bathroom with a toilet and 48-inch shower. Click on the photo to see bigger pictures. (Click to book Cathedral Trees)

#21 – Hidden Beach ($99 double occupancy)

Small and cozy Hidden Beach

Click for larger image

In the northeast corner of the Inn, Hidden Beach is small, cozy and economical, with a beautiful antique walnut bed set. In spring and early summer, you can hear a gurgling brook outside your window. The room has a double bed and a private bath including a claw-foot tub with shower.  Like Redwood Creek, this room is recommended for single occupancy, but 2 people are welcome if they don’t mind snug quarters. #22 – Fern Canyon ($179/$169 double occupancy)

Large and expansive Fern Canyon

Click for larger image

Fern Canyon, a southeast corner room with an expansive view of the river, is our largest and most breathtaking room. It has a four-poster king-size bed and deluxe mattress. Often this is the room guests choose after touring all of them. The room’s only shortcoming is its small but functional private bath with claw-foot tub and shower.  The smaller-than-standard tub supposedly came from a 19th century passenger ship. In spring and early summer, guests in Fern Canyon are lulled to sleep by the sound of a brook that runs along the east side of the building.
