Women’s Self Care Retreat in the Redwood forest on the Klamath River

Self-care retreat for women in the heart of the redwood forest on the CA coast. A weekend of self-care practices to be the best you.

February 8-10, 2019

We live in a fast paced world, full of distractions and obligations, but when do we ever have a chance to step away and take care of ourselves? Looking to connect to your inner wisdom and the natural environment to refuel your energy? Your journey of connection and self care begins in the heart of the Redwood Forest at the Historic Requa Inn.

The Historic Requa Inn is an award-winning, 100 year old inn located on the banks of the

Klamath River in a wonderland of a mighty River, tiny waterfalls, Redwood trees, ancient trails, and ocean views. This self care retreat will give you a chance to reconnect and recharge. You will experience mindfulness group meetings, a conscious cooking activity, a mindful walking session, and one on one self care discussions.

Upon arrival on Friday night you will be greeted with a warm bed and friendly atmosphere, along with a meet and greet with other participants. On Saturday morning we will start our day with a warm breakfast overlooking the River, morning meditation and self care discussion. Before lunch we will offer a moderate hike down a beautiful, private coastal trail to the mouth of the Klamath, where the river greets the Pacific ocean. This is a place where the Yurok people have lived since the beginning of time and is known for its healing energy.

Imagine sitting on the sandy beach next to a warm fire, among crashing ocean waves, practicing a guided meditation facilitated by a practicing counselor (Kimberly Meriwether, MSSW, ASW, wife and mom), relaxing and rejuvenating in a circle of supportive women.

Following our brisk walk back to the Inn, you will be invited to learn about local, eco-friendly meals as our local chef prepares your lunch. After lunch on Saturday, you have a one on one session with Kimberly to discuss your individual self care needs and plans, as well as participate in break out activities. Soak in the backyard hot tub, journal in the riverfront gazebo or (weather permitting) take a hike among the ancient redwood trees.

An evening meditation is set to the mystical beauty of the sun setting over the deep waters of the Pacific ocean and is followed by a group discussion on self care. Dinner and wine tastings set the evening as we wind down with time for self reflection as you create your own personal plan to incorporate self care into your daily activities.

Sunday morning will end our wonderful weekend with a warm, nourishing breakfast overlooking the Klamath River and closing circle before saying our goodbyes with your individualized self-care plan in hand.
